Both regulate the course of the game when a zero comes out: in particular, if the player bets on one of the simple odds (red/black, even/odd, Manque/Passe, which pay the bet once), in the event of a zero coming out, his bet is “closed” and blocked pending the next round. If the bet is subsequently a winner, it is released and returned to the player, while if it is a loser, it is taken away from the casino.
